COMMUNITY SERVICE DONATIONS
 2009 - 2010

 

Chair: Denise Rotier

This committee coordinates our monthly donations to local charities and service

organizations. Participation by members is voluntary and at the member's

discretion. Details regarding donations and who coordinates each charity are

noted with monthly programs, under the Program Calendar tab of this website. 

Members are asked to leave all donations on benches outside of monthly

meeting room.


October: The Care Givers of NH

Coordinator - Margaret Goodrich

The mission of the Care Givers is to assist the frail, elderly and

disabled so that they maintain the independence and dignity.

Canned/nonperishable items: canned ham, non-sugar cereal, cooking

oil, coffee, tea, and canned or bottled juice or grocery store gift cards.



November: Soldiers' Angels

Coordinator - Joan Shaughnessey

Items collected will be used to make "Care Packages" for our military.

Tooth brushes, razor, powdered drinks, individual packages of cookies,

crackers, pretzels, raisins, candy, AAA or AA batteries, gum, Frisbee,

crossword puzzle, wet wipes, facial cleansing pads.


 

January: Salvation Army

Coordinator - Judy Cable

Time to donate those small hotel toiletry items. Shampoo, conditioner,

lotion, mouthwash, shower caps etc

February: New Life Home for Women & Children

Coordinator- Muriel McMillan

This organization has many needs, but we are focusing on one area for

donations. Paper Goods: Paper plates, foam dinner plates, bowls, and dessert

plates, plastic silverware, tablecloths, cups - hot and cold, napkins, paper towels,

toilet paper . Snow shovels at this time of year are also needed.

March: Camp Allen

Coordinator - Sara Cowall

Camp Allen is a private, non-profit, residential and day camp in Bedford

for individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities. This month, we

are collecting donations for Camp Allen’s nursing station cupboards. Milk of

Magnesia, ice packs, calamine lotion, Pepto Bismol, Maalox, throat lozenges,

bug spray, Tylenol, ibuprophen, Benadryl, etc.

 

April: New Mom Support Group

Coordinator: Amanda Cebrowski

We will collect wipes, baby shampoo, and lotion along with diapers (size

3, 4, and 5 preferred) and distribute them to community support groups.

 

 

     





The Program calendar of monthly charities and donations is organized each summer.  If there is a particular organization that you wish to have included, please contact Denise for consideration for next year.  The list of organizations we will support for the new year is finalized by September 1st.
