COMMUNITY SERVICE DONATIONS 2008-2009
The Program calendar of monthly charities and donations is being organized. If there is a particular organization that you wish to have included, please contact Denise ASAP. The list of organizations should be listed by September 1st.
Chair: Denise Rotier This committee coordinates individual donations to local charities. Participation is at your own discretion.
- October - Y.W.C.A. Crisis Center - Chair: Jan Schlerf
Bring in old cell phones. They are given to abuse victims who do not have cell phones, to be able to call 911. Very old phones can also be refurbished. Any personal information, telephone contact #s, etc., should be purged personally by you, before donating. This will avoid any repercussions.
- November - Winter Clothes for Emergency Foster Care - Coordinator: Denise Rotier
Please bring your gently used or new children's winter hats, gloves, scarves and coats to our meeting. These will be distributed to foster care organizations who will give these items to children who must leave their home on an emergency basis and do not have the opportunity to pack their own clothes.
- January - Infant and Toddler Needs - Coordinator: Nita Beale
Please bring new unopened infant and toddler clothing, diapers and formula of all types to be distributed to several organizations with in the area.
- February - Dress for Success - Coordinator: Betty Heroux/Cindy Mills
The New Hampshire Chapter of Dress for Success supplies a work appropriate wardrobe for women who are re-entering the job market. Bring gently used clean clothing on hangers. Suits, pants, blazers, sweaters, dresses, as well as all season and winter coats, pocketbooks and briefcases are appreciated.
- March - Animal Rescue League - Coordinator: Becki Kuhns
Please bring items from this list: Clay Cat litter (non-scoopable): both wet and dry kitten food (Iams or Science Diet only); dog toys (Kongs, Nylabones, Galileo Bones); boxes you get when you buy a case of soda; 8 x 11 copy paper or bleach.
- April - Bedford Public Library - Coordinator: Cindy Mills
We will collect used VHS and CDs that are not above a PG-13 rating. Also paperback books, and hard cover books. Children's books are always appreciated.
