INTEREST GROUPS 2008-2009
Participants are required to be BWC members.
Begin a new group by bringing a sign-up sheet to a BWC meeting,
calling or emailing members and contacting Coordinator  Barbara Perkins

Additional Activities:

  • Lunching Out/Day Trips* - Kathy Benuck
    This is now a combined activity. Trips will be planned and coordinated by different members and will be announced as they become available. A deposit will be required to hold your reservations for any and all trips and lunches. Some events already planned or in the works:
    • Allyson's Orchards (TBA)
    • Walpole Trip (TBA)
    • *Other trips to be announced as confirmed. Dates and details being arranged. Please let us know if you would like to help or participate.

  • Book Group -     Discussions on selected books each month on the second Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in members' homes. RSVP to the hostess the Friday prior to the meeting.  

 

  • Bridge -  Substitute in existing bridge groups or form a new one. (See Drop-In Bridge.)

     

  • Bunco - Anne Ekdahl/Tina Caruana Play this easy-to-learn, fun dice game. Winners get prizes. Play on the Third Tuesday at 1:00p.m at members' homes, October-May.

     

  • Concerts/Operas - Mary Menner.
    These are held locally and in Boston.

     

  • Couples Dinner Club - Aurora Pincince
    Call Aurora if you'd like to arrange for couples to get together in small groups for dinners at members' homes.

     

  • Couples Sunday Brunch - Aurora Pincince
    Join other couples for Sunday Brunch. Sign up at BWC meetings or call Aurora.


  • Drop-In Bridge - Linda Hardgrove
    Drop-in for bridge on Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Richmond Room on the ground floor of the Bedford Library. Bring bridge cards. Beginners welcome.

     

  • Golf - Maureen Freeman
    Golfers, all levels of play, are invited to join in the fall schedule. Spring and summer schedules will be announced later in the year.

     

  • Mah Jongg - Becki Kuhns

     

  • Mountain Hiking - Maureen McIntyre
    Hike our state's scenic trails. Hiking boots and water are essential. Hikes to be announced to those indicating an interest.

     

  • Movies
    Will be arranged with those signing up.

       

  • Rummikub - Play at Carlyle Place at 1:00 PM on the first Tuesday each month, beginning October 3rd. Call Nancy to be a regular or a sub.

     

  • Scottish Country Dancing - Sylvia Calder

     

  • Snowshoeing -
